'K STRONG SONGS'
By Kent Strong
Mom had six brothers and six sisters. A pretty good find for my dad who came from an orphanage in Kentucky to a farm in Iowa at the age of seven. I grew up with my brothers Cary and Denny and two sisters Deb and Pam in our small town. I was the only one to leave the roost; but, sure enjoy going home now and then.

Our claim to fame is the hometown of Meredith Wilson, the ‘Music Man’. But, sadly, our Mason City airport was also the last stop for Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens & The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson) and pilot Roger Peterson. Peterson, not having been informed of worsening weather conditions, decided to fly on ‘instruments’ meaning without visual confirmation of the horizon which led to that fatal crash on February 3,1959.
Church and music were a big part of our family life. Mom made sure we grew up children of God. Dad and my Uncle Bob made music on the weekends at all the local Honky Tonks. Our entire family sang and played a lot of music in our home. Little did I realize the influence of this love for music would unfold in my writing songs much later in life.
I am so grateful to our daughter, Alison, and our son, Matt, for creating this website. All the songs are copyrighted and recorded as demos for promotion only - not for sale.
The lyrics in these songs of faith are a gift from God - I have no other explanation. I am just grateful He chose me to share some of the wonders of His love. And if He has someone in mind to share His songs on a bigger platform, what will be, will be.

I dedicate these songs of faith in memory of Dr. Charles Stanley. A wonderful man, the beloved leader of ‘In Touch Ministries’ and Pastor of First Baptist Atlanta for 50 years.

Dr. Stanley has been my inspiration over the years through his ‘Life Principles Bible, Television sermons, ‘Jesus, Our Perfect Hope’ daily devotional readings, email timeless teachings ‘From the Pastor’s Heart’, CD’s, books and especially his powerful little book ‘Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit’. And his profound statement – ‘Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him'. Love that man.
Some awesome musician friends brought these songs to life in Jim & Salli's ‘Raven Recording Studio' in Englewood, Colorado. Jim is the producer, mix master & vocal track engineer and sings harmony on several songs. He is also a songwriter and recording artist - check him out online!
Ernie Martinez is the master musician playing electric, steel, acoustic and bass guitars as well as mandolin, banjo and dobro. Also included is Ernie's sweet instrumental on a tune I wrote called 'Better Times & Better Days'.
Rob Lowe and Ken Goodwin are the virtuoso piano players. John Magnie is also a multi-talented musician and Gordon Burt is the 'man' getting down on that fiddle.

Mary Huckins (‘Dakota Blonde’) and Amy Nugent ('former Mrs Colorado') share their beautiful voices on songs we recorded in the studio. If you click on the photo of the children's Christmas song 'Sleigh Full of Love,' a short fun, doggy video will play.
Mary sings lead vocals on 'Sleigh Full of Love' and harmony on 'Mother's Love' & "Soldiers Prayer'. Amy sings lead vocals on the song 'Somebody Special,' sings harmony on 'Here Today & Gone Tomorrow' and sings a wonderful tribute on the song 'Heroes'.
